Construction Update – October 2020
Construction work on the Witchcliffe Ecovillage paused over the winter months and we are now looking forward to work getting underway again on 19 October. While site conditions over winter don’t suit civil works, the stonemasons have steadily continued in the Village Square and the new long curving stonewall they have completed during this time looks magnificent. Western Power electrical services have also been commissioned during this time and power has now been connected to the new transformers around the site.
While most of the underground services have been completed, there is a lot of work still to do and we have a busy program planned for the spring and summer before we can start sealing roads and constructing paths in December.
During the break, we have been working with our landscape contractors, Tranen, to plan the first stage of revegetation of the new stormwater management system in Stage 1 of the Ecovillage. We have also signed contracts with local companies Margaret River Cowaramup Electrical Services, to complete electrical works in the Village Centre and the cluster microgrids, and Total Eden to install pump and irrigation systems. These works will also commence this month and will be completed in parallel with the civil works.
