Civil Construction Update – May 2022
Stage 4 is looking fantastic (for a civil construction zone!) The Wormall team has been dodging Covid bullets and working hard to meet its Practical Completion deadlines and is on track to hand over Stage 4 in late May, followed by Stage 5 a month later. Then comes the often arduous and bureaucratic task for the WEV team of ticking off the subdivision clearances with all the various government bodies, after which we apply to Landgate for lot titles. Phew!
Stage 4 feels so different to Stage 1-3 due to it having a lot more undulation and a very different soil type, with gravelly loam and beautiful topsoil. Many of the lots also have fantastic views across the central or southern dams.
Work on the southern entry road to the Ecovillage (Main Roads intersection off Bussell Highway) has been postponed until the weather clears up again in spring. As this work was part of the Stage 4 clearances, we’re paying a substantial bond to Main Roads WA to guarantee its eventual completion and allow us to carry on with the balance of work without it. As we have two other points of access, this then enables us to release the Stage 4 lots to the market instead of having to wait until later in the year when the road could be built.
Imagine how impatient prospective buyers would have been had we waited until then!
