CIVIL CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – DECEMBER 2020
The civil works program has completed a large amount of work including earthworks and installing services including drainage, sewers, power, NBN pits and pipes. However, up until now, most of it has been buried, so despite the large amount of plant that has been on site, progress may have seemed a little slow from the outside.
Now that we are nearing completion of the works, progress is more visible with the Bussell Highway intersection nearing completion, internal roads have started to be sealed, kerbs are being laid and path construction has commenced. We have also installed five irrigation and fire tanks and commenced work on the community garden irrigation systems and the electrical microgrids are well progressed in clusters 1A, 1B and 1C.
Local contractors have been working on site from Pioneer Water Tanks, Margaret River Cowaramup Electrical Services and Total Eden (Busselton) and local stonemasons, Uralba Stone are still chipping away. Our head contractor, Wormall Civil recently acquired a large local civil contracting company, Cowara Contractors, and so we are also seeing a presence of local staff and equipment from Cowara working on the project.
It’s fantastic to see the civil works progressing well and we look forward to seeing the project move into its next phase from 31 January 2021, which will be the start of residential construction in Stage 1.
