The Witchcliffe Ecovillage team regrets to announce the postponement of the Ecovillage Open Day launch until early 2020.
While we are very disappointed to bring you this news, we made the difficult decision due to the reality that we just aren’t going to be ready by early November due to delays with completing our detailed civil drawings and budgets. Once the detailed civil drawings are completed, we will be going out to tender for the civil construction works package which will enable us to confirm pricing of Stage 1 lots by mid-November. The award of this crucial works package will give us certainty across a range of important delivery areas, including lot pricing.
On a positive note, we are relieved that this delay will give us more time to fully prepare for the public launch of the project and enable us to do the best job possible across all project delivery areas. After 10 long years in planning, the Ecovillage deserves nothing less: we’re not about to start cutting corners now!
The next steps
From early December 2019, we will be able to:
- Confirm the date of the Open Day, which will be between mid-January to mid-February 2020.
- Announce individual lot pricing for Family, Cottage and Affordable lots in Stage 1 (residential clusters 1A, 1B and 1C) to our database.
- Take registrations for optional small group guided site tours (ahead of pre-sales).
Again, we would like to apologise for the postponement of the Witchcliffe Ecovillage Open Day, which will no longer be held on Sunday, 3 November. We will keep you abreast of all the important news through our website, newsletter and Facebook.
