The Village Pub
Every community needs a local pub and, given its prominent north-facing position facing onto the Village Square, we think it’s going to become a very popular place to catch up with friends. A beautiful alfresco verandah with a louvred roof will run the length of the building ensuring that, regardless of the season and the weather, it will be a comfortable, flexible, efficient space for patrons to sit and watch the world go by.
There will be strong emphasis on environmental responsibility, sustainability and innovation throughout the Ecovillage pub, including building materials, fit-out and furniture, services and operation, and the food and drinks that are served. The pub will only be supplying local beers and organic wines from our region, along with tapas style dining using fresh produce.
The community-scale pub will be a family-friendly environment with excellent pub-style food, regular talented local musicians and entertainers, and a relaxed vibe that welcomes everyone to experience the Ecovillage.
The Ecovillage Cafe
The cafe will be located next to the pub overlooking the nature playground. Grab a morning coffee and a healthy breaky treat on your way to work; pull up a chair and linger while watching your kids explore the nature playground; meet friends for a tasty, local lunch; relax on the weekend after a yoga class with a cuppa and the newspaper. Serving delicious, locally-sourced, organic fare, this café is sure to become a local favourite well beyond the residents of the Ecovillage.
